Hello there, here in Scotland the nights are drawing in fast. The one consolation about this is at least there is the opportunity to do more guilt free stitching!

Sandy and I are waiting on the keys to our very own new cross stitch design studio, here in Aberdeenshire. It's been a long time in the organising and we've been packed for weeks, waiting for the ink to dry on the paperwork. However, the end is in sight and we hope to be in and busy by the 1st of November.

The studio is part of an old disused Victorian railway station, abandoned when the trains stopped running to the village, sometime in the 1960's I believe. I could actually check this out as there is a small railway museum in the end of the building, although it will be closed for winter by now. Anyway, Unit 1 is now ours and we can't wait.

Coincidentally, just a few weeks after finding the station house studio, Catherine Hood (editor of Cross Stitch Collection) asked Sandy to design another of her famous three part designs, featuring a busy late Victorian / early Edwardian railway station scene. How extraordinary is that? So we took it as a sign that this will be a good move for us! with the chance to run the cross stitch workshops we have always wanted to do. Look out for this latest three part design in 2010.
